Achievements

Environmental Impact
One of GDF's most notable achievements is its environmental work, including the Kikonge tree planting project in Migori County, where over 10 million trees have been planted. These initiatives, alongside agricultural programs like fish farming and small business development in areas like Olasi, have not only transformed the livelihoods of many individuals but also contributed positively to the local climate and environmental changes.

Livelihood Projects
In addition to these milestones, GDF has launched 286,460 non-funded livelihood projects as part of the 5000Plus Vision, directly impacting 1,432,300 people. The organization has made remarkable progress, with 192,954 projects visited and 93,506 projects contacted in just 10 months in 2023.

Financial Inclusion
GDF has also made significant strides in promoting financial inclusion, with the creation of 4,324 savings and loan groups, 1,700 of which were established in 2023 across 37 counties. The organization has conducted 3,562 project trainings attended by 55,211 people, empowering communities with the knowledge and skills to thrive. Additionally, 751 volunteer training seminars were held, engaging 9,763 people.
Quality Partnerships
Furthermore, GDF has built partnerships with various experts and volunteers to ensure the effective management of its projects, including a team that trains others in machine maintenance, raw material sourcing, and feed production. Market research conducted by GDF has helped improve its business operations, leading to agreements with agro-vets in key towns such as Rongo, Awendo, and Migori, where quality feeds are supplied at affordable prices.
Prison Training Program
One of GDF's innovative efforts has been its prison training programs, which in a few months, reached 14 prisons in two counties, Migori and Homa Bay. With 8,483 prisoners participating, 1,481 individuals were trained, and 166 prisoners made a personal commitment to Christ during the pilot training programs. The remaining 6,000 prisoners have officially requested training, further expanding the reach of GDF’s mission.
Stable Governance Structure
In 2023, GDF’s structure became more formalized with a clear hierarchy, including roles for regional coordinators, area supervisors, and project volunteers. This structure has enabled the organization to reach and train even more people, expanding its network of volunteers to over 4,200 individuals.
